Everton
Draw

Everton's stronger points return and draw-heavy recent record make a shared result a live outcome at St. James' Park.
Newcastle are favourites at St. James' Park, but I'm not fully sold on them at the current prices. Everton arrive above them in the table and have been much tougher to beat, even if goals have not flowed freely. My match prediction is a draw, with 1-1 the scoreline that makes most sense to me. Here's why the away side can keep this close.
Here's the thing: the table gives Everton a small but meaningful edge heading into this one. They are eighth on 10 points after seven matches, compared with Newcastle's eight points and 11th-place position. Everton's recent five-game sequence contains one win, three draws and only one defeat, so they have made a habit of staying in games. That is why I'm drawn to the draw at 3.68 rather than simply following Newcastle's home-favourite status.
Newcastle's recent results have had more volatility. They beat Hull City 2-1 and drew 2-2 with Bournemouth, but they also lost 4-1 at Coventry City, 4-1 at Leeds United and 1-0 at home to Aston Villa. Across those five matches, they have conceded 12 goals. I wouldn't turn that into a certainty that Everton score freely, especially as Everton have managed only five goals in their own last five, but it does make a Newcastle clean sheet harder to trust.
For me, 1-1 is the sensible middle ground. Everton drew 2-2 at Hull and 0-0 at Tottenham in their two most recent away fixtures listed, showing both ends of their game-to-game range. Newcastle can create enough at home to contribute, yet their results have not earned full confidence. I'd expect a competitive match rather than a comfortable home win, with the draw and both teams scoring the angles that best match the supplied form.
Everton's steadier start makes the draw the most appealing 1X2 angle, with a 1-1 outcome plausible.
