RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig to win

Leipzig's superior league position and 20-goal output make the away win the clearest 1X2 angle.
RB Leipzig look like the right side to back at Veltins-Arena. Schalke have taken only six points from seven Bundesliga matches and scored four times, while Leipzig have hit 20 goals and arrive off a 4-0 win over Elversberg. Their away record adds some caution, but I still lean towards Leipzig winning a game with goals. Here's the case for it.
Here's the thing: Leipzig's recent results have been extreme, but the attacking message is hard to ignore. They have scored 20 goals in seven league matches, with a goal difference of +9, and their last five include 6-0 against Eintracht Frankfurt, 5-0 against Hamburger SV and last weekend's 4-0 over Elversberg. That gives them a far higher ceiling than Schalke have shown so far. At 12 points, Leipzig are fifth; Schalke are 16th on six points after one win, three draws and three losses.
I do think the away angle needs a little restraint. Leipzig's two listed road games ended in defeats at Bayern München and Bayer Leverkusen, with eight goals conceded, so this is not a team I'd frame as automatic away bankers. But Schalke have scored only four league goals all season and have managed one goal across their past four matches. The 0-0 draw at Köln followed a 0-1 home loss to Mainz, while the previous home meeting with Elversberg also finished goalless.
For me, Leipzig remain the better 1X2 selection because the gap in scoring output is so pronounced. Schalke did win 3-1 at Union Berlin in this five-match sample, so a home goal is plausible rather than guaranteed. That is why I prefer a 1-3 type of scoreline over a routine shutout call. It supports both teams to score and over 2.5 goals, while keeping the primary view firmly on an away win.
RB Leipzig have the stronger overall case, although Schalke's home setting leaves room for a less comfortable away win.
