BoyleSports Launches Charitable ‘D20 for £20’ Challenge at World Grand Prix Darts
BoyleSports is making this year’s World Grand Prix Darts Tournament even more exciting and more meaningful by turning double 20s into charity donations. As the proud sponsor of the Professional Darts Corporation’s (PDC) World Grand Prix, BoyleSports has introduced the ‘D20 for £20’ Charity Challenge, committing to donate £20 for every double 20 hit throughout the event. The tournament will take place from 7-13 October at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester, and promises to combine thrilling darts with a generous cause.
How the Charity Challenge Works: Double Top, Double the Impact!
The World Grand Prix has always had a unique twist – players must hit a double to start and finish each leg. This makes the double 20 a prime target for players and the perfect focus for this charitable initiative. Every time a player nails a double 20, £20 goes into the charity pot. At the end of the tournament, the player with the most double 20s will get to choose which charity receives the total donation!
It's not just a game of darts – it’s a game changer for charities too.
BoyleSports and PDC Speak Out
Sharon McHugh, BoyleSports’ Head of PR and Sponsorship, couldn’t be more excited: “We’re buzzing to kick off our ‘D20 for £20’ Charity Challenge at this year’s BoyleSports World Grand Prix! The double-in format makes it the perfect opportunity to raise money for causes close to the players' hearts. We can’t wait to see who tops the double 20 leaderboard and which charities will benefit.”
Matt Porter, Chief Executive of the PDC, shared similar enthusiasm: “BoyleSports never fails to step up for charity during the World Grand Prix, and this innovative challenge is a fantastic way for our players to give back while competing at the highest level.”
Players Step Up for Charity
Many of the tournament’s biggest names have already chosen the charities they’ll be supporting. Defending champ Luke Humphries has thrown his weight behind Prostate Cancer UK, while six-time champion Michael van Gerwen has chosen the Make-A-Wish Foundation. With even more players expected to join in, this year’s tournament is set to be as impactful off the board as it is on - especially considering that spectators and bettors at reputable sportsbooks will also have the chance to support the charitable cause with donations.
Darts with Heart – BoyleSports Leads the Charge
This year’s World Grand Prix is about more than just winning – it’s about giving back. Every double 20 brings us closer to making a real difference, with the top players leading the charge. So, grab your seat, watch the action unfold, and cheer on as darts becomes a force for good!
