F1 Confirms Las Vegas Grand Prix Extension Through 2027 and Beyond

Formula 1 and the Las Vegas Grand Prix have signed a deal to extend the event through 2027, cementing the race’s future in Las Vegas for years to come. This announcement follows the overwhelming success of last year’s event, as both sides aim to build a lasting relationship and keep evolving the race experience.

Clark County has already approved a plan for the Las Vegas Grand Prix to continue through 2032, signalling long-term confidence in the event’s future. Although the official 2026 Formula 1 calendar included the Las Vegas race, the formal agreement was only finalized afterward, but the confirmation reassures all stakeholders about the event’s future.

Emily Prazer, president of the Las Vegas Grand Prix and chief commercial officer of Formula 1, explained that while the race had faced some early challenges, the event is on track to improve and establish a strong, lasting partnership. The race now has the priority of benefiting all parties involved, with continued growth and success in the coming years.

Steve Hill, CEO and president of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, emphasized that the incremental nature of the contract extensions is due to careful and practical planning. Hill further noted that organizers are fully aware of what to expect and believe that the Grand Prix is poised to become a permanent fixture, with possible extensions growing longer as planning for the event progresses.

The 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix is set for November 22, maintaining its customary spot before Thanksgiving. The event has already transformed one of Las Vegas’ weakest tourism periods into one of the most profitable weekends, with the city’s November 2023 revenue surpassing all previous records.

The success of the 2024 race was also reflected in the $934 million revenue it generated, alongside $45 million in tax revenue. Despite petitions from small business owners who claimed losses due to the event, the race has proven lucrative for the city’s overall economy. Formula 1’s permanent presence in Las Vegas is further solidified by the construction of Grand Prix Plaza, which serves as the paddock during race weekends.
